During a visit to the village in November 1993 I was surprised to get the opportunity to photograph the village centre after a light fall of snow.

In the picture on the left we see the Fox and the Manse, the latter originally the home of the Minister of the chapel which is out of shot to the left.

(right) The inhabitants of the pond carry on as usual.






(below) the road disappearing into the distance leads to nearby Great Bardfield. The white house to the left was once three dwellings and my great-grandmother lived in the leftmost of them.
